about this category

First aid training is essential for emergencies that occur in everyday life. Being prepared for these emergencies is crucial. Knowing how to properly help someone until medical attention is received can save a life. There are several places one may go to get trained in first aid.

The first type of first aid training is on-site training. Local first aid clinics, such as the Red Cross, provide training in first aid. This training includes bandaging cuts and scrapes, learning how to administer CPR, and learning the proper procedure for helping choking victims. Once you have completed the courses, you will then be certified in first aid and CPR treatment. You can then feel confident that when emergencies arise, you will be able to administer the proper care.

There are also web sites available that can train you in first aid. These web sites give step-by-step instructions for a variety of first aid care. These courses cost a bit less than on-site training courses. And, the training is done on your time schedule. However, this form of training does not allow for actual practice with medical professionals, who can evaluate your effectiveness. Just as with on-site training, you will become certified in first aid after completing the on-line course.

First aid training gives you the knowledge and skills needed in emergency situations. And, being trained in first aid can also help you make wise decisions about when it is necessary to go to an emergency room. By being trained in proper first aid, you can then determine if a situation is life-threatening or if home care is adequate. First aid training can save money and time in the emergency room. But, most importantly, you may be able to save someone’s life.
